Summary: Remember when we previously laughed at James Gunn for his involvement with "Scooby Doo"? Well no one's laughing anymore. Okay, maybe a little, but it's laughing in the dark comedy sense. Basically, there are times when Gunn goes untethered by big budget studios. And when that happens, the horror begins.

History: Grant Grant is a slightly controlling yet serious family man living in the quiet town of Wheelsy, South Carolina with his wealth and wife. Then one day, an alien parasite came crashing down via meteorite, infecting Grant, taking over his mind, and using other women as a means for spawning horrific little worms. As Grant's appearance and personality warped, the worms infected other people and turned them into zombies. At this point, the parasite stands a very real threat of taking over the minds of the world.

Notable Kills: We see what happens to a woman meant for spawning. Good luck having any inflation fetishes after this.

Final Fate: After absorbing and infecting many people, Grant is confronted in his house, and is tricked into sucking off a propane tank. After being filled with explosive gas, his wife shoots him, causing him to explode, and the rest of the infected to die. However, it is later shown that the parasite is still out there, and has gotten ahold of a cat...

Powers/Abilities: Through the parasitic worms he spawns, Grant can create an army of worm-controlled zombies. But if the multiplication table needs to be practiced, he will impregnate women so that they become addicted to meat and birth thousands of worms.

Weakness: Heavy artillery, but also if Grant dies, so does the horde.

Scariness Factor: 4.5-It's always a fright when an alien organism infects and warps somebody. But damn, not only is Grant hideous to behold, but the things he and his brood do are guaranteed to make you sick. Especially that one breeder. You know the scene if you've seen it. It doesn't help that both he and the worms bear a resemblance to living skinned flesh.

Trivia: -James Gunn sites the works of David Cronenburg, particularly "Shivers" and "The Brood", as chief inspirations for this film.

-Although some have believed that Grant is still in control after being infected, Gunn has had to clarify that his old personality was completely destroyed, yet aspects of it became the alien's, such as a desperate affection for his wife.
